Custom Milling

Yarnell Tree Full Custom Milling Services Offered

Every live edge slab that we create offers its own unique beauty. Yarnell Tree offers everyone a wide selection with over 300 unique live edge wood slabs available at our Mantua product showroom. Whether you are looking for a new dining room table or a nightstand, we have it all.

Our milling is not limited to just live edge wood slabs. Nothing is ever rushed as our slabs spend four weeks in a vacuum kiln in order to dry. The result is high-quality boards that have little cups or twists every time. We then use our heavy-duty surfacing machine to gradually work each piece down from unfinished wood to 180 grit.

The Process for a Custom Milling Slab

Log Selection We have beautiful high-quality wood for all your project needs. Milling local lumber into products just for you.

Cutting: we offer format cutting up to 48'

Kiln: After the cutting process is complete the slabs are then taken to the kiln to be dried and finished. The kiln process dries the green wood slabs to a moisture content of 6.5-8% over a period of 4 weeks.

Sanding: The last step is to have the slabs sanded down to 180 grit. This is done so by a Wood Wizz Heavy Duty Flatbed Surfacing & Finishing Machine which accommodates 14’ long by 6’ wide slabs.
